Repurposed / Upcycled Galvanized Vent Exhaust Hood Bird Feeder

Hey folks!  Here's the latest bird feeder to come out of GadgetSponge Garage!

I took a discarded (and cheap) galvanized vent hood/cap and went to town converting it into a bird feeder. I started with pairing it with a vintage porcelain/enamel plate. Modified furniture embellishments serve as perches lined up with the crescent openings that I cut into the vent hood.

I built a custom shaft up the center to hold everything firmly together. I then modified some parts to cap it off and give it a hook for hanging with the included chain.

In true repurposing style, I cut a hole in the top and soldered in a keyring and matched up it perfectly with an old glass fuse. This hole is for easy use with a funnel to refill the bird feeder. That way you don't have to disassemble the whole thing. But it can still be taken apart to clean whenever desired.

Several coats of red paint and polyurethane finished off the top.
Ready for your home!!!

Here are the measurements...
Height: 9.5"; Width (side to side): 14" (four feet); Depth: 14".

GadgetSponge Booth Overhaul

Hey folks!  Sorry I haven't made a post in a while.  I've been throwing some things up on the Facebook feed.  I've mainly been busy reorganizing my retail space and combining my two booths into one.

It all started with finding a great pair of matching columns.  Then it jumped to creating some sort of canopy and running with it from there.  I couldn't have done it without my friends, Brian & Randy!  So enough words -- here's the results....

You can see it in person at Timeline Antiques & Collectibles Mall in Shreveport, LA.

Yardstick Telephone Table Overhaul

Howdy folks on this fine Wednesday!  It's been a while since I've dabbled with yardsticks and I needed a fix!  I took this very bland, vintage telephone table and gave it a yardstick and chrome overhaul.  Some labor and a little sweat and it's done!

Industrial Vegas: Repurposed Upcycled Vintage Playing Cards Wall Art

Here's a little something different from GadgetSponge Garage!

I've had these vintage playing cards for a while now and I was trying to think of how to showcase them and show off the beautiful artwork and style.  I picked up this old wooden panel and things started to percolate in my brain.

The panel measures 27" tall by 20.5" wide.  It features the playing cards, some vintage cloth measuring tap and some remnant stained glass came.  A vintage locker number tag ties things up at the bottom.

The Atomic Yardstick Coffee Table At Home...

This custom coffee table was a true labor of love and it will remain close to the GadgetSponge heart.

Trenton, from Seattle, was kind enough to send pictures of the Atomic Yardstick Coffee Table in its new home as you can see above.  Trenton commented, ""Great concept, amazing colors and top quality construction. This was the perfect piece to complete my room. Will definitely be looking for future pieces from GadgetSponge! Brian was a pleasure to do business with. He went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Thanks!"

I hope the table gives you many, many years of service Trenton!

You can see more of this table in the original post (HERE).
