Domed Silverplate Tea/Coffee Pot w/Spicket - SOLD!

I started this birdhouse with a great vintage silverplate (Towle) teapot.  Everything except the door knob perch was carefully soldered together for an even more custom appearance.

This birdhouse started with a beautiful silverplate teapot (Towle).  I first sought out a "roof" for this birdhouse.  I found the top of a small cocktail/dessert cup worked great!  But I removed the bottom and replaced it with the base of a very small silverplate cup to serve as a finial on top.  Next I cut the bird hole and made an awning out of a silverplate napkin ring.  A beatup drawer knob serves as the perch.  To balance things, I mounted an old gas valve from a space heater to the side to serve as the "faux" spicket.  The handle turns on the spicket/valve.  ALL pieces are custom soldered to each other (except the drawer knob) and it took a great time and care to bring everything together to what you see hear.
