Overhauled Open-Top Bar with Comics and Acrylic Handles

Hey friends!  I'm revealing here a companion piece that I made for a client that mimics the style of the chest of drawers I completed not to long ago (HERE).   The client, Micah over at Red Handed Tattoo in Shreveport, requested the colors flow the same as the previous piece and to have the addition of the original comic pages.

I had the pleasure of using General Finishes "Holiday Red" Milk Paint and Modern Masters Metallic "Silver" Paint.  These were the paints I used on the chest of drawers as well.

A couple of good coats of the milk paint and some patience with a small brush for the metallic silver.

Slow, careful distressing got me the desired look I was chasing.

Just about the toughest part was cutting away the excess acrylic at the ends so it fit snugly in the pipe pieces for the industrial side handles.  The acrylic rods are 1" diameter.

And...........here's the inside!...

I removed and custom painted the interior tray which holds all of the glass pieces that form the bar set of glassware.

The comics he submitted for me "to destroy" were from the Superman Bizarro series.

Stay tuned for more crazy creations as always!  Even I don't know what's next....
